  Welcome to Zahria's foaling update blog.  Here is a little history on Zahria.  I bought Zahria in June of 2010.  I was told that there was a slight posibility that she was bred as she had gotten in with a stallion.  Her name when I got her was Velvet.  I didn't think her name suited her very well and changed it to Zahria which means goddess of Beauty.  Well, she is a very nice mare that is morgan Quarter horse x.  She is great except she doesn't like her hind end messed with, including her feet and udder.  She can be ridden, but needs work.  I plan on working with her more this summer after she foals.  I bought a pregnancy test for her because I couldn't stand not knowing if she was or not, which was a fun day to say the least we FINALLY got the urine we needed collected and tested positive in foal!!!!!!  That more or less brings us where we are today, waiting for her to foal.  I am not sure when she is due as I wasn't given any dates when she could of been bred.  It could be any time between now and May.  The lady I bought her from told me last night that she would see if she could get a little better idea for me.  I have her on a camera at night to watch her for foaling signs, which basically results in a lot of lost sleep!  I do have pictures looking for changes in her that I will post, just be warned that these are graphic pictures of her udder and birth areas.  I will try to update this blog often and hopefully will have a new foal anouncement soon!
